The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fu*k by Mark Manson

This book was amazing! The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fu*k might not be for everyone, but I thought it was a brilliant read; the best non-fiction I’ve read in ages.

Mark Manson has written the ultimate ‘anti’ self-help book that’s blunt, crass, honest and thought provoking…all at the same time. Within the first couple of pages I instinctually felt I needed to grab a highlighter so I could start marking up all the literary gold. However, I quickly realized that the whole book is filled with ‘lightbulb moments’ and in some respects, too many to be absorbed during a single read. I could see myself reading this book over and over and extracting more value with each pass.

Like I said, it’s not for everyone. When the chapters are titled – “don’t try”, “you are not special” and “the value of suffering” if you’re the type of person who takes their self-help inspo with a heaped teaspoon of sunshine you won’t find it in this book. However, Manson’s refreshingly honest and seemingly topsy-turvy approach to living a good life might be a total game changer for you (it was for me).

Bookcase worthy.
