Vol 2. was good, but it didn’t achieve the same level of magic as the first movie. Baby Groot was cute for the first 2 minutes and then he just got annoying and I thought they tried too hard with all the colour and special effects.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

I’m not the biggest devote of movies inspired by comic books. To be honest, I’ve seen very few of them. In 2014, I still remember turning my nose up when my husband suggested we go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. I was literally dragged along….but I absolutely loved it. Of all the comic book movies I’ve seen, it’s my favourite by far. I’ve been hanging out for Vol. 2 ever since.

Vol 2. was good, but it didn’t achieve the same level of magic as the first movie. Baby Groot was cute for the first 2 minutes and then he just got annoying and I thought they tried too hard with all the colour and special effects. Kurt Russell was great (and his ‘digital facelift’ for the flashback scenes was even better!!) and even Sylvester Stalone has been introduced into the franchise. Chris Pratt is wonderful as Quill and I can’t imagine anyone else playing this role.

I found the film a smidge long but the second half is much better than the first. By the time I hit publish on this edition, it will probably be at the end of its cinema run, but if you missed it at the movies, definitely rent it for a solid weekend flick.
